Testimonials
In their own words
A selection of reflections from leaders at organizations we've worked with across Colombia.
María Rojas
Executive Director, Fundación Siembra — Medellín
"We came to the Mission Clarity Session because we kept struggling to explain what we did in a way that resonated with funders. What I didn't expect was how much the listening itself would shift things. Catalina asked questions that made us realize we'd been describing our activities rather than our purpose. The written summary she produced afterwards has been something we've returned to many times."

Jaime Castaño
Board Chair, Red Territorial Ambiental — Manizales
"We engaged Muisca for the Impact Study ahead of a conversation with a potential major funder. Andrés and Lucía were methodical without being rigid — they worked within our actual constraints and delivered a roadmap that felt genuinely achievable rather than aspirational. One honest note: the process asked more of our staff time than we'd anticipated, so be prepared for that."

Luciana Peñaranda
Co-founder, Colectivo Arte y Territorio — Bogotá
"As a small arts collective we were nervous about working with consultants — we'd had experiences elsewhere where we felt spoken to rather than with. Muisca was different from the first call. They understood our context without us having to over-explain it. The Sustainability Companion gave us a funding plan that actually reflects how we work, not how a large foundation thinks we should work."

Diego Gómez
Director of Programs, Asociación Raíces — Cali
"We did a Mission Clarity Session and then, six months later, the Sustainability Companion. The two together helped us move from a vague sense of what we wanted to achieve to a concrete plan we could actually act on. Andrés is particularly good at helping you see funding opportunities that fit your model, rather than suggesting you contort your model to chase funding."

Sara Bustamante
General Manager, Cooperativa Social Café y Comunidad — Huila
"We came to the Impact Study not knowing quite what to expect. The five weeks felt well-structured without being rushed. Lucía is particularly skilled at helping organizations distinguish between what's measurable and what matters — which are often not the same thing. The roadmap we received was prioritized in a way that acknowledged our team's current capacity, which we appreciated."

Carlos Restrepo
Founder, Instituto de Liderazgo Juvenil — Barranquilla
"I was referred to Muisca by a colleague who'd done the Sustainability Companion. I'm glad I reached out. The price was accessible enough that we could actually afford good advisory support for the first time, and the support itself was worth it. We now have a clearer model and a stronger story to tell funders."

Case Studies
Three organizations, three journeys
A closer look at what working with Muisca looked like for a few different kinds of organizations.
Fundación Siembra · Medellín · Mission Clarity Session
Environmental education · 2 staff · 2 years old at time of engagement
Challenge
Fundación Siembra was having difficulty explaining their work concisely. Each team member described the organization differently, and grant applications were taking much longer than they should because there was no agreed-upon language for what they did.
What We Did
In a single session with the two co-founders, we mapped the threads connecting their programs and identified the underlying purpose they kept circling. We then drafted a mission statement and short organizational description for their review.
What Changed
Within two months of the session, they submitted three grant applications using the new language — and two were funded. The team also reported that internal meetings felt less circular once they had a shared reference point.
"The output wasn't just a statement — it was a shared understanding. That's what we actually needed." — María Rojas
Colectivo Arte y Territorio · Bogotá · Sustainability Companion
Community arts · 4 staff · 5 years old at time of engagement
Challenge
The Colectivo had been running on a single project grant for three years. When that grant ended, they had no clear plan for what came next. Their model was almost entirely dependent on one type of funding, and they knew that needed to change.
What We Did
Over three months we worked through a funding diversification plan that included earned income options suited to their programs, new funder research specific to the cultural sector, and a realistic twelve-month plan their small team could actually implement.
What Changed
At the end of the engagement, they had a shared funding plan and had already initiated conversations with two new foundations. By the time of this writing they have secured bridge funding to cover their transition period.
"The plan reflects how we actually work, not how someone else thinks we should." — Luciana Peñaranda
Red Territorial Ambiental · Manizales · Impact Study
Environmental advocacy network · 8 member organizations · 10 years old
Challenge
The network was preparing to approach a major international foundation and needed to demonstrate impact clearly. Their measurement systems were inconsistent across member organizations, and they lacked a shared view of where to focus their growth over the next three years.
What We Did
Over five weeks we reviewed programs and existing data, met with staff representatives and board members from three member organizations, and produced a prioritized growth roadmap alongside a simplified measurement framework for shared use across the network.
What Changed
The network submitted a proposal to the international foundation with a clearer impact narrative. The roadmap also resolved a long-standing internal disagreement about geographic priorities by establishing a shared basis for the decision.
"The roadmap wasn't just strategic advice — it helped us resolve something we'd been arguing about for two years." — Jaime Castaño
